THREE THINGS

I have discovered three things in the past month that are worth sharing.

One: The pressure cooker.
I grew up in the era of "pressure cooker terror", so it's taken me 30 years to get rid of that fear and purchase one of these marvels. Pot roast in 30 mins? Whole chicken, stewed, in 20? Collards in 10? Yes, yes, yes! I LOVE my pressure cooker! I can cook a whole meal in less than an hour by just cooking one thing, dishing it, then putting the next thing in, cooking, etc, and only one pot to clean? Yes!

Two:
Snore? I do, sometimes, apparently. And I knew it was true because I would wake up with a sore throat. It's especially true if I eat bread near bedtime, or have more than one glass of wine, or drink it too late. So one day I found one of Lilly's jersey headbands, (the kind you might wear during sports to keep your bangs out of your face), and strapped that thing under my chin and over my head before I fell asleep. When the lights were out. Miracle! The one pictured is made specifically for snoring...I just think a 50 cent band is sufficient.

Three:
Words with Friends, which in my case, is usually, Words with Strangers, as I play "random opponents" most of the time. I have lost pretty badly to someone going by Bea3333 who scored a 98 point word against me...of course, she just must be cheating.

You have almost convinced me on the pressure cooker. I used one for canning years ago and got pretty good at it.

On the other hand, I remember my mother scraping collards off the ceiling after using hers. :)
