look full in His wonderful face,
and the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
in the light of His glory and grace.
As I sat in my living room, alone, feeling quite sorry for myself, in both physical and emotional pain, I began to sing, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. There's just something about that name..." and just the singing of his precious name lifted my spirits. Then I sang Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, and I felt a flood of tears swell in my heart and eyes. Even in loneliness and pain, His name is above all names, and his power above all powers.
During a brief interlude with the Christian faith, the singer Sting wrote a song titled, "Whenever I Call Your Name", in which he states, "whenever I call your name, I'm already praying."
Then I got on my blog and checked everyone else's, only to find plenty of encouragement from those whose faith rests in Christ, whose joy and strength is in Him, and I regained some of my strength from their faith.
That's a wonderful thing about faith. It is not a private concern. It is a spiritual power that supercedes the flesh, and affects everyone that hears the name of Jesus, the nature of His love, the power of His glory, the mercy of His being.
I thank you Lord, for the faithfulness of your followers, of the ones that love you with all their heart, soul and might.
